Description: In January, 2014 I had six days to kill between obligations in Los Angeles and Tecate Mexico. I was in the midst of a mid-life crisis, contemplating a career change and needing to find myself again. Not having much money to devote to the few days, my sweet husband suggested I camp at Joshua Tree National Park. My first reaction was to ask if he could meet me there to camp with me. With only one car between us and the fact we live in the San Francisco area, it was impossible for him to join me. I slowly warmed up to the idea of camping alone. It ended up being a glorious four days of self-reliance, self exploration and self discovery.

Many friends whom I’ve told about this experience have expressed an interest in doing this themselves, but will not consider doing it “all” on their own. I would like to offer a retreat in which I will lead you to your site, give each participant a loose itinerary and supply you with what you've chosen as your selected package. I will be nearby (as well as the other participants) and available via walkie talkie should you need assistance, but would encourage you to “do it all on your own!”

With this level of solitude and self-reflection my hope is you will gain renewed clarity, a new sense of self and a peaceful re-entry into your everyday life. We will connect at the end of your journey as a group to chat about how you feel and how you can take this fresh feeling home with you.

Cost: Starting at $300.00 for a DIY experience to $800.00 for almost all-inclusive including transport from LAX
